Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Luxury vinyl flooring is not "your parents vinyl flooring." No longer just relatively boring looking sheets of vinyl, vinyl flooring now offers customers countless looks with the durability of vinyl flooring.

What is it?

Most luxury vinyl is made from PVC (or Poly Vinyl Chloride) and generally has a tough wear layer. Many luxury vinyls can be used in either residential or commercial settings. From a style standpoint, luxury vinyl products can look like hardwood, tile or just about anything else (except carpet of course!)

Luxury vinyl is great for basements, and other areas where water might be an issue.

Take a turn towards design...

One way to add some interest without adding a great deal of cost to your new tile floors is to consider, instead of laying the tile flooring in a straight pattern...turn it.

A diagonal tile (as seen in the first image) will create a different look than the plain vanilla straight lay tile, but only increase the cost for installation by 10% or so...

A bricklay tile pattern (as seen in the second pic) will create some texture for your room and again will only increase cost by 10%...

When considering a tile flooring option,
take a look at taking one of these basic and economical "turns towards design." It will create a more interesting look in your space without blowing your budget.

How to choose a floor...

There are many factors that enter in to choosing the right floor, whether you are interested in hardwood flooring, tile flooring, carpet or an eco-friendly bamboo flooring material.

To make the process a bit easier, here are a few things to consider:

1. Lifestyle: What do you do on this floor? What does a day in the life of this floor look like? Pets and kids running around, or a formal dining area? Lounging on the soft carpet in front of the fire, stepping out of bed with bare feet?

Choosing the right product for your lifestyle is vital. Finding the product that will be durable in your application and will have the features to make it fit in to your home is the first step.

2. Style: What look are you going for? A contemporary modern feel? A cozy cabin look? Bright colors to open the space up? Finding the right style is important.

3. Budget: We all have a budget for every project...are you looking for the high end hardwood to act as a show piece in your dining room, or a budget carpet for the kid's room. Establishing and sticking to a budget is important in the enjoyment of your new floors.
